Today is a good day. No's a GREAT day! :D

I wasn't sure when I got up this was grey and foggy and depressing and miserable and I was having a really hard time getting up any enthusiasm for doing ANYTHING.

However, I had to go out...I have volunteered to put up posters for my favourite musician, Royal Wood. He's playing a concert at the NAC on January 12, and in exchange for me hanging up 50 posters and posting it on any social network site I'm on, I get 2 free tickets. And I had made arrangements to go pick up my 50 posters today.

By the time I got the NAC, the sun was out, the fog was gone and it was GORGEOUS!!!!!! I picked up my posters, made a couple of stops on the way home and hung a few up.

While I was out I noticed that the side walks were in great shape and free of ice. So I decided to go for a run when I got home. Oh my goodness...I have missed running. When I decided to try running in April 2011, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would fall in love like I have. I got out there today and the instant my feet hit the pavement, I broke into the biggest smile. Granted, today's run was mostly a really fast walk...but I'll still take it. Because today was about finding how my leg and knee would hold up. And they both held up great. I'm not so sure about my lungs though. I'm really out of shape. So, I will start back at the beginning and load up my iPod with the podcasts I was using. I'll be starting back with 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking. I am determined this time to complete the full program and be running 5k at the end of it. No injuries this time. :D

Run stats:

Distance: 2.28km
Time: 25:44
Weather: -1C, sunny
Overall feeling: THRILLED to be out running again. Now to regain my endurance

That is terrific! I like your 60/90 plan. You'll be doing the whole 5k before you know it!
