I usually have a main course and a dessert, I can't manage any more, then I enjoy every mouthful. Not only because I like to enjoy myself, but because I don't want MY diet, in the sense of what I eat or don't eat, to become everyone else's problem. My mother used to be a nightmare, to the point where we dreaded having to feed her, or taking her out to eat. Fat, sugar, this or that was unhealthy, she made it a misery for all. So I eat what I'm given, enjoy it, enjoy everyone else enjoying it, and say thank you after! 2475 days ago
Going out to eat is hard sometimes. In an ideal world my parents and friends would always choose restaurants where I can look at the menu beforehand AND has nutrition info. My family and I are going to Phoenix for a 5-6 day vacation... so I have to eat out EVERY MEAL for almost a week. Yikes. I'm scared. But there are things you can do (especially if you go home afterwards).
1. Have the waiter box half of it up before they bring the entree out. I've done this before, and you quickly realize, as the waiters show, it's not an abnormal request and they get it a lot. 2. Eat your entree slow, like you suggested, and you'll probably have leftovers anyway! 3. I always just get water with lemon. (I'm also not a wine person though.) 4. I try to avoid the bread and butter or chips and salsa that comes before the meal... or try to eat half of what I would've normally had.
No need to get steamed broccoli every time you go out, but of course there's a difference between steamed broccoli and fried macaroni and cheese. :P
Switching up the routine is key for weight loss... I learned that the hard way on Spark the first time. I miss swimming. I miss my gym membership. 2476 days ago
