EARLY RISING, HEAVY FOG
Monday, December 10, 2012
Well, I got up early to get to my meeting on the other side of town. I was going to allow myself an hour to get there as it is during the rush hour. The visibility was zero due to the fog and they were reporting accidents and closed lanes all over town. This meant that I had to leave much earlier than I had planned. Hubby got up and remarked, you do not have to leave this early. yep, look outside. He opened the door to go out with Coco and remarked wow, I cannot see the road from here. I said, see why I need to leave now and not 45 minutes from now.
He wanted me to call him as soon as I got there. I went buy and grabbed a large cup of coffee for the long slow ride. I could bearly make out the tail lights of any cars in front of me.
As I have bluetooth in my car, Hubby called after about 45 minutes. I told him were I was and that the visibility was not getting any better in front of me. I did hit about two spots earlier where I could see for about 3 car lenghts, but after that it was like driving blind. I got there with 15 minutes to spare. This gave me time to go in and relax a couple of minutes after the long slow trip. Half of the people were late due to the conditions. The supervisor was not really happy with that as she was delaying getting started. Some of the people were coming from 2 to 2 and half hours away so it was really slow for them in these conditions.
Finally the meeting was over and when I went out to leave it was raining. Well, drove home in the rain. At least I could see the other vehicles on the road with me.
Got home and Miss Coco was wanting to go out. It was wet and she does not like to go out in the rain, so it was a really quick trip for her. She is curled up beside me sleeping. I am sure if I go into the kitchen, she will beat me there as she never sleeps through a trip to the kitchen just in case I am getting something to eat she does not want to miss it. I had fast food chicken for lunch so I only had a yogart cup when I got home to night. I just do not do fast food very well
