Best Party Ever so far.

Saturday, December 08, 2012

Wow, I am so glad I went to the Holiday party for work yesterday. It was at Tosca's on Tremont, a very popular and delicious bar, restaurant, catering hall in the Bronx. We had a great DJ, the food was to die for, the bar was wide open, and the vibe was of family and great fun. It's too premature to believe in anything considering my recent past, but this is a place I could create something for myself. I mean who gets to dance Gangnam style with their Assistant Principal! I'm being taken right into the fold and the school has such a positive culture the kids even like it. I have the whole year to listen, and learn and see where I can fit in. Someone told me if I thought this was fun, wait for the End Term party in June!
I need to learn how to shop for clothes. One of my students told me yesterday that I dressed very plain. Well I am a science teacher and not known for being fancy. When the money thing settles down, I'll go shopping and do a little research first on what kinds of things to look for. I'll go beyond just slacks and a fitted polo shirt.
The week got much better after seeing the Doctor on Tuesday. Work was good the rest of the week and my classes may be ending a few sessions earlier than I thought. That means I get more evenings back faster and I can make my new work out schedule. Hopefully I'll spend a lot less time on the computer and a lot more time at the gym again. It's the best treatment I can think of, especially with these miserable short days. Digging deep, staying positive. I will be able to enjoy going to work without fear, spending the afternoons working out, making healthy dinners and doing things I like. Cold weather hobbies, get some scrap book pages done, clean and organize a closet. Box up things for donations. Okay, time to go do some stuff. Maybe I'll go soak in a shower for a bit.
