Hello Sparkfriends!
This is a long overdue follow-up to my previous blogs, and I am afraid I have to start with apologies - I meant to drop a note to all who commented on my previous blogs to say "thank you" for doing so....but I am afraid I never got around to it. It is now too late to do that but I'd like to say a special THANKS to those who commented (better late than never, eh?)
In case any of you are wondering, here is an update on Mum:
She was in hospital until some time in September. When she was released she had to stay in a nursing/rehabilitation place near the hospital, where she and my Dad were taught how to manage in terms of exercise, nutrition what to watch out for in terms of symptoms and how to ensure correct medication taken at the correct times. They are at present still at this place, though they have told me they will be going home soon.
In the meantime I was frantically getting organised to visit, I was ready to buy my ticket to Cyprus in late August and I mentioned this to Mum and Dad in one of our regular phone calls, and they both said "no, we don't want you to come, not while we are at the nursing place". They want me to wait until they have gone back home (about two hours drive from the nursing place, very picturesque drive but also very rough, over mountains). So I had to shelf my plans and wait until they are ready for me.
I will be happy to see this year go, from May to September we seemed to have nothing but deaths, disease and disaster, including hubby having to have laser surgery on his "good" eye (he had the same operation on his other one 18 months ago) for a torn retina and my daughter having to be rushed to emergency for the second time...I can honestly say that those few months were the most miserable of my whole life!

But things are getting better and hopefully they will never get as bad ever again!
My Spark friends stood by me through the whole miserable time, and for me it was a source of great comfort, though to be honest, I still cannot figure out why all you guys did not run away as fast and as far as possible......(lucky for me, I suppose...)
You are the best!

HAVE A GREAT FESTIVE SEASON!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Love you all,
Eleni
