My hike yesterday did me well, as I woke up at 141.6 lbs this morning! I'm feeling much better today, also- both physically and emotionally.

My husband and I had a talk about my weight loss. He would like for me to focus less on losing weight, at this point, and more on toning up... since he knows I have a naturally athletic and muscular build. I'm excited about making that a 2013 goal- to get in better shape physically. I've focused a lot on cardio in 2012 to make my weight goals so it will be fun, now that I've shed the layers of adipose tissue (fat) to start sculpting some killer muscles!! I would prefer to get a few more pounds of fat off first, though. So this isn't something I'm going to start until the New Year. I'm excited about it though! I used to work out a lot and even had dreams, when I was younger, of competing in figure competitions. That's out of the question for me now, but I can at least pretend! Working out and sculpting muscles was always a fun hobby that I enjoyed. And since I have a genetic disposition to do this with ease (I inherited my dad's muscular build), it should be quite rewarding!

I anticipate a few challenges today. We're taking my daughters to The Mall to meet Santa today. The Mall stresses me out... especially on a weekend. The food court will be calling me, and that stupid Great American Cookie Co!!! Mmmm.... those cookies are so good!
But I'm resolute to not indulge today, as I have my first Christmas party to attend tomorrow and I want to look and feel my best! Plus, I'll have plenty of cookies to indulge in soon enough!

Hope you all have a great Saturday!!! It's in the 80's here in Houston... it really doesn't much feel like Christmas. I'll always be a Northern girl at heart. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am happy for you and agree with your husband. Your weight is just fine, now is the time to just get more fit through exercise and good eating habits. You go girl.

Congrats on being so close to a goal - perfect timing too because this will help keep your priorities over the holidays in mind. 130s! WOW! I think the goals of going into the new year focuses on sculpting muscles is great - your body will feel even leaner than it does now. T-8 hours to my first holiday party. I am going to eat before I go, and snack on veggies. Red wine, not cocktails (I love nog and holiday cocktails, but I still have many parties to go - no sense getting into bad habits early!)

I'm so excited for you! Congrats on the loss, you're so close to your goal.

Good luck at the mall, I might be facing the same challenge tomorrow. It is in the 70's up here in North Texas. Of course, I'm a native Texan, so warm Christmas weather is pretty normal. But my husband is from Ohio, so it drives him crazy!

I wish you all the best tomorrow at the cookie party. I will be thinking of you!

I'm glad you talked to your husband. It's awesome he's on your side and involved in your goals! It makes maintenance a lot easier too if you have new goals to work towards. I know what you mean about the weather. I'm in Virginia but was born and raised in Connecticut. 70's and rain here. Yuck!

Glad to hear you talked with hubby. Having it out in the open makes it much easier for him to partner with you. Toning up is a great goal. I have been slacking in strength training lately, I've been more focused on running or just doing cardio and have not been doing it much. I need to recommit to that.

Sounds like you're getting ready for this holiday and making the adjustments so you can enjoy when you want to enjoy and make healthy decisions most of the time. Have a good time at the mall today. Try not to let it stress you out. emoticon emoticon emoticon

OH my goodness YOU COULD do figure competition.. I think!
This is exciting.. since like you say you have the genetics to build muscle!

Wow you are so close to 130... that is AWESOME!...

Have fun at the mall... enjoy...... and yes it would be hard to feel like it is Christmas if it is 80... I feel the same way here.. it is still running 60's in Arkansas..

Glad to hear the hike did right by you!

Sounds like you have a pretty supportive husband. It definitely helps to have someone in your corner. Especially someone as close to you as a spouse.

    Good luck at the mall!
