I did it! One week sober! Also,

Friday, December 07, 2012

Woo Hoo!!! I did it! Let me tell you about my day yesterday. I went to a bar and grill that I use to get hammered at about twice a week. I got dinner and diet coke! Normally, I don't drink diet coke because of the did NOT taste good, won't be doing that again!

So then I went to the local bar with some friends. This is the bar I feel very comfortable in so, of course, I use to get hammered here also. Well I didn't drink at all! And my friends did! They tried to get me to have "just one" and I struggled for a quick minute. But then, I watched how they kept saying "I'm just going to have one more" ...five for 6 times. I don't want to be controlled by a drink like that ever again. It is eye opening to watch people you know get drunk while you stay sober. You think "I don't even act that differently when I drink". Not true! Wow. They weren't completely drunk but they still acted different. I feel really bad for making my boyfriend baby sit me for the past 3 years. I'd hate if the roles were reversed, he is much more patient than me!

As for winter running, holy crap this "winter" weather is awesome! 55 degrees? Perfect! We are usually covered in snow in December! It had been really surprising to run in different conditions. I am one of those people that gets cold in weather under 75. We have ran in freezing rain a few times and it wasn't bad at all! Pouring rain is only bad because it is hard to see. The only bad part is we lose sun after the first mile because we run after work.

Alright, that's all I got! Happy Friday everyone!

Great job. I went out last night to a birthday party at a bar and you are right. People act different when they are drunk and I do not want to be that person anymore. It's Friday and I am going to the gym after work and then home to cook (love to cook). This is the time when I pour myself a bottle of wine.....I mean I glass, but funny how I typed that wrong without realizing it - and the truth. Any rate, no wine in the house and I am not planning on buying any....I am planning another day of AF!

You keep up the good work! I'm rgiht behind you! You are inspiring me!

Congratulations!! It IS an eye opener to be the sober one at a party, isn't it? And YAY for not having 'just one' - because as you've figured out that one makes it MUCH easier to have one more!! emoticon

Keep it up! You are definitely going in the right direction. Aside from all of the health/emotional/relationship benefits think of all the money you'll save! A year from now you could probably take a vacation in celebration!
