Day 10: Thursday, December 6, 2012

I have to say I've gotten more energy the last couple of days--got a lot done around the house, which is always a good thing. A major thing I did was re-arrange the freezers (I have 1 in garage and 1 in the kitchen) by moving all the off-limits foods, such as ice cream and potatoes and frozen dinners, etc to the garage and only left stuff I could eat in the kitchen. I figured why have it staring me in the face, right? So now the kitchen freezer has chicken breasts and more chicken breasts along with some veggies and that's about it. I also left some Eggos and french toast, but I don't eat those anyway. The fridge is pretty good except the drawer with the (dreaded)pudding and snacks like that(which my son and hubby "need" to have. Oh, I know! I'll put some cardboard over it so I can't see it. I think I'll put the cheese in there too! The juices and milk don't bother me either,
I tried a new vegetable today...jicama-- it was ok, pretty mild but I couldn't eat a whole cup of it. I think it would be better in a salad or dipped into something. So I am branching out, slowly but surely. Last week I didn't know that I would like cabbage. (Although I've heard that that can make one gassy, so I'll have to be careful. Hee hee) I also put cabbage and leftover spinach in my IP broc/chz soup today...Yummy!
Now i just have to make it through the evening and night without indulging. I'm going to do it. I will do it. I want to get healthy!!!

Keep up the great work! Here is a link to a recipe for jicama. I am dying to try it, but my grocery store doesn't carry it. The recipe is on the second page of the thread. It looks amazing :)
