I have not slept in 2 days. Very tired and depressed. The longer we go into the winter the worse it will get.

I feel your mood. Have been there before. First, You need try taking melatonin, to see if that helps, or an OTC sleep aid, if they don't work, you'll have to try the Rx'd things like Ambien, etc. Because not sleeping is making everything worse.

I had to fall completely into that dark hole of depression, with a myriad of physical systems failing then shutting down, so weak and sick, that Dr.'s told my family that I wouldn't make it till the weeks end. It was a long slide down...and a longer crawl back up.

So don't screw around with this...take something to let yourself sleep...every night. Use all the tricks..dark, cool room, no TV or computer, an hour before bed, get in bed, lights out, at the same time, roughly every night. You've read them know these tricks. The 1st step is consistent sleep, every night.

Doesn't need to be 8 hours...Probably won't be. But get 4 or 5 hours. Then work on light therapy, getting some additional exercise every day does really help.

And please keep posting about how you are doing, feeling you are sleeping, etc.

Sorry for sounding so adamant...but YOU can change this, I've been there, and I know sleep is a big part of breaking the downward spiral.

Thanks for letting us know. Since I specialize in stating the obvious, have you checked out light therapy to deal with some level of SAD, or, Seasonal Affective Disorder?

Hope you're able to cope/deal with it better this winter.

emoticon That's why exercise keeps me going through the dark months. We're in Oklahoma, it'll be warm and sunny soon, heck by the end of next week!

I'm so sorry you're feeling down. I was also going to suggest light therapy as Truckerwife2 did. Have you talked to your doctor about it?
