He phoned the cemetery yesterday to make sure he still had the bought and paid for burial plot. Yep, he does and he will share it with his passed on second wife with whom he had three daughters. Then the phone calls to the lawyer, the pension folks, the health benefit people and finally a list of all investments, bank accounts, etc, etc.
Six months ago my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer. And all through this time I snacked and ate my way up to size 16-18 jeans. We waited for the radical surgery to take place on Nov. 13, 2012 and then waited for the pathologist's report two weeks later. We were told by a very serious urologist that the cancer had broken through the prostate capsule and gotten into the right seminal vesicle and the lymph-vascular system. So the radiation and chemo therapy begins ASAP and I'm in shock, angry and feel like I'm sitting in front of a loaded shot-gun.

I figured out the urge to cry is stymied if I have something in my mouth and bread is my downfall. I can't let myself self destruct so I've put signs on the pantry and fridge that says "SPARKS" and "WALK".

We have started planning our bucket list and hopefully the first trip will be to Scotland and England to meet with cousins in the fall of 2013. That's providing the Mayans are inaccurate about Dec. 21, 2012. emoticon I surely want to be fit and healthy and not 45-5olbs over weight.

I'm on a farm with both families miles away so I'm asking for support, guidance and prayers.

Think positive thought, BECAUSE, the body heals itself better when one is positive. Secondly, I know it is hard but, you must take care of yourself first and foremost or you won't be there to take care of anyone else. Exercise is great for stress and therefore great for your body and mind. I am not sure why your blog seems so final...did the doctors say there was no chance? (they are not always right). I am glad you are working on a bucket list, but is this list something you just came up with since the diagnosis?
Hang in there and fight for what you want! I'll pray for you and yours.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers, too !
Prostate cancer can be treated, and is not necessarily a death sentence.
Hopefully, things will work out fine, for your husband !
As for you, fellow Sparker, you will have to get busy with the SP program
of mindful eating, and plenty of exercise !

Moriah71, I am saying a prayer for you and for your husband. Strength, peace and wisdom to you both.

Exercise really will relieve some of the stress that you feel, and help fight off that self-destruction you referenced. Hang in there. You're not in this all alone.

I cannot wait to see photos from your trip next fall. emoticon
