Running Cramps

Ran 3 miles on Monday night 12-3-12. That might have been a bad idea since I ran 5 miles on Tuesday. Around 3.5 miles the cramping in the calves got bad enough I had to walk a bit. They finally went away and I was able to finish up. I am hoping as I become more conditioned these stupid cramps will go away.

I should say I had just purchased a really nice pair of running shoes. I don't think it was the shoes. I've been getting cramps with my old shoes.

    Thanks. I saw a couple places recommend a foam roller. I will have to look into that. I've gone a whole week struggling with these calf cramps. They're not showing any signs of letting up just yet.

    Make sure you're using a foam roller and stretching/massaging properly! You don't want to end up with a stress fracture like I did!
