December Changes

Tuesday, December 04, 2012

It has been a month and day since my last blog.
Time flies. We had our Christmas with two of our kids on Thanksgiving. We do this every other year so they can be with their in-laws for Christmas every other year. Some might think it strange but right now it works for us. They all want to be together at Christmas. It will be a quiet December around here, but thinking about visiting siblings a few days before Christmas.
Thanksgiving had to be one of the most stress free. All were happy with their gifts, they actually helped out in the kitchen and cleaned up and we played games and went to the movies. So I didn't feel so tired and stressed this year like I did last Christmas.
Then we moved on to December. I had a blessing fall unexpectedly in my lap in the form of a new job. I will turn in my resignation for this one next Monday and start my new one learning half a day on Saturdays starting this Saturday for the next few weeks and then be full time on the 22nd. It is an uncharted field for me keeping up with books, but they are so laid back about everything and I look forward to having an office to myself and not having to deal with drama all day long. My husband and best friend say they can already tell a difference in me. I get a little freaked out about it every once in awhile (change always seems to do that too me) so I am doing a lot of praying.
On the health front, I got out of the habit of exercise over the holidays and so this week I stared adding it back is it that we lose our stamina so easily. I was doing 60 minutes and now I can barely do 15. I am off the neurotin 3 days a week now and I can tell the difference. My son in law is an RN and he stressed the need to wean myself of it slowly. I still fight with the colas. I can do well unless I get a headache like I did today and then I cave in to one.
Since Christmas is over for us-I am beginning to do some decluttering and that is taking up some of my time as well as trying to make friends with our new rescued kitty. So I have not spent as much time on here as usual.
Time to move on to the laundry. Those never ending household chores!
