We did it!

My son has been asking me for several months to join a gym. After calling every gym I can think of (only to find out that most will not allow an 11 year old to use the equipment) and test driving 2 (that would let him work out) we joined a Sport & Health fitness center on Friday. I have to admit that this was exactly what I needed to get back on track. It is so awesome to have him there with me and seeing him actually have a good time messing around with all the cool equipment.

I have to tell you that there is nothing better than joining a brand new 6 Million dollar state of the art fitness facility the day before they open. It is amazing. They have cardio and strength equipment that I have never seen or heard of. And they offer so many different group fitness classes.

I took a Jungshin class yesterday. I have never heard of this before but after reading the class description I knew I had to give it a try. It was incredible. My shoulders were completely fried when I walked out of that class. I cannot wait to take it again on Wednesday. Here is a link to an overview and a video. They have videos on YouTube as well. I am totally hooked and can see myself raiding my sons stash of play swords and teaching classes to his buddies in our back yard…….

I am taking on of 4 different spin classes today. I am so excited. I am trying to talk my son into taking a class or two with me but he is really happy using the punching bag, throwing weighted balls against the trampoline, and messing around on the basket ball court. We have to go to the other facility to play racquetball, which we will be doing very soon. Yes we have access to two facilities. Luckily, they are both pretty convenient.

I might not be able to run right now but I can sure as hell swing a sword and ride a bike.

    O. M. G. I just saw this, and girl, I'm impressed! That jungshin stuff sounds so freaking cool! Glad you're loving the new gym! It definitely sucks not being able to run, but there's always other stuff to do!
