Sweat my frustration out

I had a not-so-great day at work on Wednesday, just a bunch of annoyances and frustrations that added up to a grumpy me. I had already packed my gym bag with the intention of taking in a RIPPED class, and I knew, in spite of my frustrations, that a workout was the best thing for me. Back before I lost my weight, a day like that would have been a ticket to a pity-party, foodfest :-( These days, I know getting a sweat on cures the grumpies better than just about anything (although a winning Powerball ticket would have done the trick, too!)

When I got to class, I told the instructor that I NEEDED a workout! And she worked us hard, and I took out all my frustration and annoyance on that hardwood floor, I tell you what. An hour later, I felt much better - sweaty, but back on a more even keel, thankfully.

So not only did my new habits save me from the umpteenhundred calories I would have drowned my worries in, I actually burned a bunch instead. I love that change in behavior. Now if I can only continue my defense against the eggnog lattes - so far, so good!
