bought a hat

Friday, November 30, 2012

I woke up yeasterday with a good case of the Christmas blues, but I pulled out of it. I told my family no negativity today, and reminded them of that whenever whinning started. I got some errends done and I took them out to lunch then got my Christmas shopping started. I also did what women have done for the past 400 yrs to cheer themselves up, I bought myself a new hat. It is a great hat and was on sale for 10 bucks. Sage green with a black ribbon, looks good on me. I had to laugh at the tag that talked about the "technology" of a hat being able bounce UV rays off of you, even had a little picture to illistrate that point, like it is a new thing that hats are for keeoing the sun out of your eyes. It does make me look a little like a park ranger, when I wear it to the state park everyone will be nervous thinking I am the Park Police. lol Looking forward to that.

    Good blog!
It is funny, because in '04-05, I lost my sister to Cancer, was depressed and became very sick, culminating in a 4 months hospitalization.
In the early Fall, we took a drive to visit our daughter and our grandson, stopping at a Cracker Barrel to have Lunch. On the way out the door, I spied a rack of reduced, end of summer, straw sun hats....tried one on, loved the fit, and the sort of carefree feel of the little soft woven sisal hat...Bought it.
Have never been much of a hat person, but, I love this hat! emoticon
Now...I am still wearing it in the summer, but It's sort of my turn around emotionally.

So, I think some hats can definitely make you feel better! Thanks for sharing!
