All is not lost

Today begins Day Five of the No Junk Food Challenge. My results are not yet what I expected, but we may be getting there. The challenge does not require that I give up caffeine, but I did have to quit drinking coffee because I put as much junk in it as there is coffee! I have mostly stayed away from tea even though it is extremely healthy because I thought now would be as good a time as any to break my dependence on caffeine. I don't think I realized the extent of my dependence though. I am still tired throughout the day, but I do at least have the energy to get in my mid-day walks. I was pleasantly surprised last evening how much energy I felt at my second job, but I was exhausted at the end of my four-hour shift. That made it much easier to get to bed earlier! I do have to admit I am waking up a little easier. I am not bounding out of bed each morning, but waking is a little less painful. emoticon

I was especially disappointed that I weighed in this morning at 0.4 pounds more than on Saturday. I know it could just be fluctuation, water weight, difference in date/time from last weigh-in, or even muscle gain. Still, it is disappointing. I guess I will just have to wait another week and hope for better results then.
