Authentic 10

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

You know how most women's closets have clothing that range between 2-3 sizes? Our husbands think we're crazy because when they shop they'll buy a 34 waist with a 34 inseam and call it a day. Women, on the other hand, when shopping have to consider a "size 8" is not always an "authentic 8". Instead a size 8 dress might actually lean more towards a "size 6" or even "size 10" depending on the designer. For the record, this is one of the reasons why I detest shopping!

Currently, I have a wardrobe that ranges in size from a 6 (don't ask me how that happened, but it has) to a 14. That being said, you'll understand my skepticism when I slipped into a size 10 dress that I hadn't worn in over 13 years with no problem! I mean it looked great but how come I can't fit into all my size 10 dresses? Here's a clue! I probably need to loose another 10 pounds in order to fit my other size 10s and old 8s!

I guess I will just enjoy the fact that I can fit this dress regardless of its authenticity because last year, there was no way I could even consider it!

Ending the day on high note folks! Blessings upon all!

    I live in fantasy land.
One look in the change-room mirror though, and I fall into a grumpy, depressed mood.

Also, at times, if I find something I LOVE but it's a smaller size, I buy it and use it for motivation. It's a reward paid forward, sorta. Okay - it doesn't really work, but I did say I live in fantasy land!

I have been shopping many times and run to grab a size up or down depending on the brand and how it fits. Very frustrating. We don't have the same curves to fit. Top is different from the middle from the bottom and you all work so hard to make the clothes make you look your best.
    Keep sparking!
