Oh, boy. What did I just decide?

Today I took the "are you ready to run" quiz and then something on the message boards got me thinking about running a 5k. I searched SparkTeams and found multiple 5k training groups. In particular, a SparkPeople run, 8-week training program with no experience needed. I have never run before. In fact, my endurance is terrible and running aggravates it more than anything else. But I've always wanted to be able to run because it's an easy thing I can do anywhere and I really see it as the best way to help my endurance. Right now, I don't have time and holidays will get in the way, but in January I only have 2 hours of class a day and 8 hours of work a week. So time is NOT an excuse to not work out. By the end of the month, maybe it will be enough of a habit that I can continue into next semester (which should be less time consuming with easier classes and only one lab). Right now I'm working on just doing something every day. Surely I'll be ready to commit to something bigger by January. And the free time and easy class should encourage me to stick with it.

I think I just decided to train for a 5k. Am I completely insane? Any recommendations for which SP training program I do? emoticon emoticon
