Build a Bootcamp: Day 3

Yesterday I took off from my bootcamp building workout, and instead did a longer yoga routine. This was the right choice, as I was sore and stressed, and the yoga was relieving. Hardcore cardio and strength intervals would've just tightened me up and made me feel worse.

This morning I woke up with a sore throat and a very runny nose. Ach! No colds! And I really didn't want to get out of my warm bed into the cold morning. But as it had to be, I made forced myself out of bed. Well, the cat, Jabberwock, had a great deal to do with that. Sensing from the other room that I was awake, he sauntered in, sat on the floor directly next to my head and started yowling for breakfast. Cats can make great get of bed alarms.

And then I didn't want to work out at all. But today there's a lot to do, and I knew if I didn't work out, that I'd either just doze on the couch or waste my time clicking around the Internet. After doing a short yoga routine, one of SP's 10 minute kickboxing routines, and my build a bootcamp, I'm feeling much better and energized. And even though my nose is no better, my throat is feeling much better.

Today's Build-a-Bootcamp:

Each interval was 1:30, and the whole thing was repeated a total of two times.

1) Jumping Jacks
2) Push-ups
3) Front Jabs while in squat
4) Bicycle Crunches
5) Mountain Climbers
6) Lunges
7) Jogging in Place

So far I've been really happy with this random exercise card selection process. For the 3 days I've done it, it's turned up balanced workouts, in the I have an upper, lower, and abs strength component, and the cardio exercises aren't too similar. Though today reaffirmed that I HATE mountain climbers. I ended up doing jumping jacks for the last 30 seconds because I hate them so much. So I think that card is coming out of the draw pile. The whole point of writing up the cards to randomly choose was that I'd be more in control of my workouts, and doing exercises that I enjoy which are effective. Because if I don't enjoy it, I won't continue doing it.

Ok, and now to my green breakfast smoothie as a treat! emoticon emoticon (It's made with strawberries, a banana, lite coconut milk, water, spinach, chia seeds, oats and a dab of cinnamon. Yum!)
