Update on Rebecca

Monday, November 26, 2012

This is an update on my niece, Rebecca, who has the brain tumor.

She still has Bell's Palsy on the left side of her face. Her left eyelid won't stay open so they have her wearing an eye patch. I don't know the reason behind that.

On her last visit to the doctor, it was discovered she has shingles in her mouth. It must have been caught early because she wasn't complaining about her mouth. Strange to me, since she just turned 24.

She is back to work and handling everything well. She is a real trooper.

Her follow-up tests are in mid to late December to see if the brain tumor is gone.

I'll let everyone know the results when I get them.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts, concerns and prayers.

Shingles! Talk about being kicked when you're down. Is that related to the treatment, or is that just random bad luck? Despite all that, she is maintaining her routine. Good for her and good for you and the rest of the family for the support that you give her.
