Monday is my favorite :)

I was happily able to make good decisions while out of town. Avoided alcohol completely...i know myself and I once i am enjoying alcohol i am eating whatever i want, as much as i want :) When i got home and logged my foods i found out that i actually didn't eat nearly enough cal for the day so i had some oatmeal. I was especially proud of myself because my Dad ordered onion rings (one of my FAVORITE junky foods) and i put 4 smaller rings on my plate with a tbls of the dip stuff and enjoyed every morsel without 'blowing' it and hating myself. I wasn't even tempted when there was one left.

I had a lunch date today, with a teacher and a couple students from one of my classes. I hadn't been to that particular campus so it was interesting to visit. I rarely, if ever, eat out. I love to cook too much :) But i decided to eat with them in the cafeteria. I wandered around trying to find something healthy amongst alot of pizza, burgers, and french fries...all no's for me. I finally decided on a small cup of chicken noodle soup and a salad. I had two cups of lettuce, a little tomato, cucumber, 1/4 c black beans, peppers, peas and 2 tbls of regular ranch (no lite or non fat dressings at all) AND it cost almost $7.00...i was shocked. It was fun to get together as we have been communicating online all semester without having ever met in person.

Ran home quick after lunch to exercise and then go get my hair cut. Thought i would do something drastic, but once there my stylist talked me off the ledge. She cut a couple inches off the length and shaped it differently and i like it alot :) Love going to get my hair done. They always do a scalp massage as part of your haircut and it is so stinkin' relaxing.

Left the salon and went to Target. My youngest granddaughter, Aster, turns 1yr old and i have been looking for little boots for her. I got some cute little outfits at Kohl's but they didn't have boots in her little tiny size. I found some for her and her 2yr old sister, Lilly. I also found taper candles, cards, some chocolates for my son and daughter in law, and a cute board book. It was fun :) and now i need to wrap the goods and get the box shipped to them in North Carolina.

BF's mom made us homemade noodles and tonight i cooked them in homemade turkey stock with delicious chunks of turkey. It was very old-fashioned and very good!

Back to the old grind tomorrow :) Hope each of you is having a great day!!

Sounds like a great day! I would love to see a pic of your new haircut. How on EARTH did you leave an onion ring? emoticon You are my hero! lol!
Soup and salad for $7, outrageous. BUT the fact that you stayed strong and enjoyed those things instead of the other available junk is priceless!
I hope your report of these small successes rub off on me. That's why it's so great to have a community like this that understands what a big deal it is to not go berserk on onion rings.
Wishing you an equally awesome Tuesday!
