I've been craving food lately. Nothing specific, just food. I've already had my afternoon snack, so I need to wait until after dinner to determine if I have enough calories for a snack. I also have a list of things I really want to buy from Amazon. I'm craving the purchase and getting mail! But in 3 weeks I will be getting about $70 in Amazon credit, so I have to wait until then.
Resisting cravings is super tough. If I wasn't on SparkPeople, I would have eaten a bowl of Goldfish by now. If I didn't track my expenses and look up how much money I'll get for selling textbooks back, I would have bought at least one of my wish list items by now. But I do have these checks for myself and, as hard as it is, I am able to resist the cravings. And at the end of the day, I will be rewarded by a happy number of calories, a possible snack, and a happy bank account. And in a few weeks, I will be rewarded by (hopefully) a healthier body and (definitely) the satisfaction of not spending money I didn't need to.
