My SPYtacular Secret for Surviving the Holidays

Monday, November 26, 2012

**Exercise- I started a GOOD habit of working out for AT LEAST 20 minutes a day/ 6 days a week at the beginning of this year. I WANT to finish the year out in the same way.

~My plan is to keep that GOOD habit in working order throughout the holiday season, and get AT LEAST 20 minutes in per day of intentional fitness minutes.

**Strength Training- I have increased my ST to AT LEAST 2 times a week during the last 12 weeks.

~My plan is to keep my NEW habit of ST for AT LEAST 2 times per week in GOOD working order during the holiday season. In fact, if I have plans to be out of town, I am going to make sure to have either a few weights with me or my resistance bands.

**Nutrition- This area is where I struggle the most. For the most part, I eat on the healthy side of the line, but there are times that I cross that line. During those times, I need to remember to pick myself up, dust myself off, walk across the line, and start again. I NEED to remember to be kind to myself! I know HEALTHY tastes better anyway, however if a slip up occurs, I MUST remember to BE GENTLE, too often I beat myself up about a fault. Moderation is an important key ingredient, I just have to keep that in the forefront of my mind especially during the holidays!

~My plan is as always to keep my fridge fully stocked with the fruits and veggies that I love. My body truly craves them, so I need to give it what it WANTS! I will stick to my MODERATION MANTRA! I will get my menu board in order TODAY, so that I have a plan in place for dinners for my family everyday this week, and beyond to help me stay on task.

**WATER- I have MADE drinking water a GREAT habit! I have gone over 600 days with drinking AT LEAST 8 glasses of water a day. I think at this point I would be lost without my water.

~My plan is to continue this GREAT habit. I actually think that I may even need to increase it a bit more. With winter approaching, I actually feel a bit dehydrated even though I am drinking this much. I will be aiming at 10 glasses a day to see if this helps.

**Accountability-This is the ONE thing that brings it all together. Accountability to myself and accountability to ALL of you! If a plan is made, it is IMPORTANT to remain accountable to it because that is when the BEST results happen.
-The definition of ac·count·a·ble: 1. subject to the obligation to report, explain, or justify something; responsible; answerable.

~My plan to stay accountable is simple continue to WI in weekly, chart my progress, and report to all of you!

I am looking forward to a SPYtacular Survival during this Holiday Season, and to reporting a successful one at that!!!
