Well our Thanksgiving weekend was lovely on one hand...we enjoyed our hike ect. I did miss my brother though. I never get to see him any more. We had our nephew for the weekend. Took him on a 3 hour train ride. He has loved trains ever since he could walk. We really enjoyed it. That little man makes me laugh so much. Sorely needed indeed!!

Our daughter Karyn has thrown us a bit of a curve. She most likely will fly out Christmas Eve for Australia. Yep, I said Australia. She has been searching for the next step. This particular job ends this Friday. She has gotten no response on any of the applications for internships or jobs. So she is pursuing being an aupair for a couple with 2 girls in Australia. It is very common practice in other countries. So with fear and trepidation we will most likely send her off for 6 months to a year. Lots of research and legal things to do in the mean time...

So Christmas will also be without any of the children home emoticon but that is part of them becoming adults and part of life. We have a family tradition of seeing a movie on Christmas. This year it is Les Mis. My fav musical of all time and Karyn's as well. Now I have mixed feelings about going to see it. BAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to shake off the holiday blues and quick!!

I caught a chest cold from my babysitting kiddos so that has not been fun. But we did walk last night and will tonight. As much for my mood as my fitness!!

I am going to emoticon my way thru the melancholy mood!!

Empty nesting is hard! Pride in our kids takes away some of the sting, butttttt dang.
I would say think about the movie and tell her you will be thinking of your getting to and settling in a bit in A'ustralia as you watch it! It is sweet to have that connection with her.

You are a brave woman to keep taking care of babies. And a lucky lady in that you and your Terry enjoy walks and hikes together. (again I hope he will have evenings with you).

Take care-- as we all know you do,

Australia- yes it will be an experience for your daughter and I sure it is going to be hard not having kids around during the holidays. Be Thankful for doing such a wonderful job raising your children and be thankful for your husband- you will still have him around for the holidays.

Australia??????? No way. Really?... what a great opportunity and experience for Karyn. You know that's how Candice got to Ireland (as an aupair) and then chanced to go to Canada and meet the most wonderful man. emoticon emoticon
I know it must be so hard not to have them around. But you and Terry have done an excellent job in raising your children and they are doing what God has planned all along. I say you continue that Christmas movie tradition.
And just think you can visit Karyn in Australia. That's somewhere we all want to go...(well maybe not Dave)! Remember I'm here for ya and sometime when you don't have the babies we can hit the Pelican. Mom is much better now and I'm not there 24/7 so give me a call! Love ya
