Our big celebration went well and I stuck with the plan of including both "wicked" side dishes as well as healthier alternatives. Turns out everyone ate both. I guess that means overall we all ate less of the higher fat options so it's all good.
This morning, after stepping on the scale and seeing what I expected to see - a temporary weight gain - it was motivation enough to go downstairs and pitch all the leftovers except two pieces of apple pie.
The pie will be pitched this evening if we don't eat it after helping our daughter move this afternoon. Since she lives on the second floor of one place and is moving onto the second floor of another place I'm thinking we'll burn a few extra calories today (grin).
All in all it was a moderate Thanksgiving weekend and my husband and I were able to maintain workouts and not go overboard on the eating. We're thinking it was a good practice run for the upcoming Holiday season.
