Staying Motivated During The Holidays

I can certainly say one thing... I have been working way too hard to get fit and lose weight for the past 4 months to just throw it away on a few weeks of high-calorie food and sitting on the couch.

My plan is to get 100 minutes of cardio a day. I'm shooting for 750 minutes a week. Yes, it's lofty, but if I made it easier, then I wouldn't be working as hard. I think you need to strive to do more, when you hit that goal, keep increasing bit by bit. Last week , I logged between 700-750 minutes. After hitting 750 a couple of weeks, I'll increase to 800 minutes. I also plan on upping my HIIT. Right now I'm doing treadmill intervals and I'm not where I want to be (6 - 7 mph for 90 seconds - I'm at 5.6mph) So I have short term fitness goals to keep me motivated.

I'm logging food and fitness and I'm not sure there's alot to improve there, except the daily temptations of my co-worker's constantly-filled chocolate bowl that I have to walk by 20 times a day (within 6 inches!) Again, I've been working too hard to blow it. The mini bag of M&Ms are 85 calories. It's takes me 7.5 minutes on the treadmill to burn off 85 calories. I did the exercise to mentally arm myself every time I walk past that darn huge bowl of Kit-Kats, kisses, Twix, mini-Hershey almond bars and M&Ms (plain and peanut). She keeps bags of them under her desk! O My!

I will stay strong, I will workout every day, I will eat apples and grapes when the urge to hit the candy bowl strikes! And if I cave, I will log every darn calorie!

OK ~ this is my plan to make it through the Holidays and still lose weight.
