Now What

Friday, November 23, 2012

I enjoyed spending time with the family all day yesterday and today. I did a little cleaning today and purged my closet again. I went shopping with my daughter and we ended up buying clothes from the Juniors section (I'm a big junior). LOL!
I ate too much yesterday but, not nearly as much as years past. I also did my morning run before the festivities. Today I managed to get in my fitness but it was a late afternoon run and my heart wasn't in it. My stomach hurt, my throat was sore, and I was bored all around. I've recommitted to my half marathon training program but, I'm just getting bored with my program and need to find new motivation.

I hope this note finds each of you well. I'm going to spend the rest of the weekend try to find my new and improved mojo as I contemplate my "now what". SIGH.

Can you try some new things to spice up your running, like listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks? Maybe try counting the steps as your running (that helps me count my pace when I'm running)

I hope you find some motivation for your half marathon. I had some problems like that when I was training for my 5K, but it was my first 5K, so I pushed myself through it. Maybe set weekly rewards for each time to get the training runs done?

    Totally feel you.

Can I tell you that TWICE last week I actually got so bored with my own workout that I allowed myself to quit?!

So, listen here - What do you say to a mileage challenge each week my fellow amazing runner? It'll give us both something to work toward?

    C'mon MOJO!

You're amazing, some times we just need a break to revitalize ourselves. I have no doubt you'll find your mojo and be ready for that half marathon.

Ah girlie, you just didn't have your heart into the run. Happens. Haha, did I just say that? I've NEVER ran. So no matter how you ran today, you are my HERO!!

Sometimes after a big event a person gets a bit of a letdown feeling. There is so much build up and then it is all gone in a flash. Kind of like looking at the remnants of a turkey dinner. It takes days and hours to put together and it is eaten in minutes. You have a very fertile imagination and I know you will find innovative ways to perk up your exercise routines and rise from the doldrums. emoticon emoticon

Sometimes, we just need to allow our minds and bodies to rest for a couple days. It's okay as long as you get back on track after that small break. I know you will find your motivation in no time. :)

So glad you've had a good couple of days. it is sooo hard when that exercise routine gets boring!! Maybe run a different route? But, I have a feeling you're not the girl that runs the same route every day!! I'm definitely not a runner emoticon but is there a different training program out there??? You will get your mojo back!!!

Oh, honey. I was sort of scratching my head because what you've written sounds like SO MANY SUCCESSES!! Maybe you're just a little worn out. Be gentle with my friend, okay?

Don't I know the feeling! I'm trying to find something new and exciting to get my motor running at top speed again but not sure what that will be. Great job on sticking to your routine in the midst of the Thanksgiving holiday. A lot of people didn't do so well. Take some time to rest so you can be healthy. Rest is important too, hey, maybe that's what your body is trying to tell you. Anywho, have a wonderful day!

You might be low-energy because you're nursing a cold like I have been for the past couple of weeks. Every once in a while, I've just got no more juice, but it's hard to let myself rest.

Aside from taking care of yourself, can you reverse your running route, to make it look fresh again?

I hope you aren't getting too sick and feel better tomorrow. I agree with 1HappySpirit, you should be very proud of yourself that you did your run even though you weren't feeling 100 percent . A little half hearted exercise is better than none in MY opinion. Especially if you are under the weather. Now, if you ARE sick then maybe you should listen to your body and take a day off to get better?

Give yourself some praise and a pat on the back for going on your afternoon run.....even when you were not feeling the best! Stay strong with your commitment!
