Weird day

Friday, November 23, 2012

The weather was strange, my mood was odd and it ended up with tomorrow's plans all switched around.

The weather started out rainy, cleared up for a while, got cloudy and very windy, and the temperature dropped like a rock. In fact it is snowing a little bit now. I managed to get in a fair amount of walking, but not as much as I had planned. I walked 6.5 miles total today. That is still a decent amount, but I had planned on closer to 10 miles for the day. Cooper doesn't like the rain though so our one walk was shorter than usual. That is okay I have been putting a lot of mileage on the pup this week. He won't get walked much tomorrow though as plans have altered.

My mood... was well, a little off. I think the gray weather is what does it to me. My dad said I should start taking Vitamin D again, since I am not getting as much sun exposure. I probably will, as it seemed to help last winter. As long as the off kilter days don't outnumber my good days I guess I am doing okay.

Tomorrow's plan was a trip to the farmer's market, followed by lunch with my parents, before heading home to hopefully walk the dog a nice long walk in the afternoon. But my brother's dog is dying, and might not make it through the night. So, he and my niece are on their way back from her mother's house, so my brother can be with his dog, Parker. That means my niece needs a ride to Buffalo in the morning... early. I am the obvious choice for that chore. So, I will drop the dog off with my parents, drive to Buffalo and back, hopefully early enough that I can stop at the farmer's market and the library before going back to my parents' place. I am hoping I make it back in time for lunch, but that might be pushing things a bit much. All that means is that my dad will be walking my dog in the morning. That is an hour of exercise that I would normally count on. I feel bad for my brother. It wasn't that long ago that my cat died, so I can empathize. Parker is quite elderly and decrepit though, so it isn't a big surprise. It will still hurt.

I am hoping for a better start to next week.

I hope it worked out ok. I take Vitamin D year round and have full spectrum light bulbs in my kitchen. The lighting tricks the brain into thinking it was sunlight.

So sorry to hear about your brothers dog. Everybody knows how it feels to lose an animal. They are so much part of the family!
You can only hope they are not in a lot of pain. You never know how much pain they are in!

It is agonizing to lose a furbaby. It is so kind of you to drive your niece to Buffalo. We must live fairly close, well close for me, as I live just outside of Toronto. I must add that I noticed that you are nearly at your 5% goal . Really put the pedal to the metal this week and reach that goal. I am so happy for you.

It's always a bummer when one of our beloved pets dies. So sorry for your Brother.

I am hoping you have a better week next week as well. I am so familiar with letting your loved ones go. I had to make the decision to put both our Dobermans down as they had cancer that spread when operated and took them both so early.

I will pray Parker goes in his sleep and has no pain. And it may be good for your dad to get out and walk the dog. May end up loving it!

Oh I'm sorry to hear about your brother's dog. I can't imagine how much that is going to hurt. And I'm sorry about your cat as well. I hope your spirits are lifted soon. emoticon

It really throws me off when my plans don't work out. There's seldom anything going on in my life, but it seems like things just crop up to interfere with exercise. I'm sorry about your brother's dog. I know it will be tough.

Here's another vote for the vitamin D. Pets are part of the family and affect the whole extended family.

Sorry about your brother's dog. Our pets are definitely members of our family as your brother has acknowledged by trying to get back home to be there with his dog.
