Day 331

Have to say our dear Jetta is a live wire! It's SO much different living with a very young, super active dog than it was having our elderly Oz here. Being with Jetta is like baby sitting & teaching our 19 m/o grandson!! There's no sitting at the computer, sitting down to eat lunch without her dropping her ball in your lap or shoving it in your face to throw it for her again. She loves to play ALL the time!! It's really great tho, but I'm just saying it demands a lot of time. I'm happy to devote so much of it to her, but sometimes I'm having trouble getting everything ELSE done!! And, we're walking/hiking about 9.5 miles/day besides. We're really happy with her, she's just a super dog and I'm so glad we were led to her. Yes, Divine intervention - no question about that!

Took her down the big hill to the creek so she could go swimming and she also decided the pond looked like a bunch of fun - so in she went. Loves the water. We hiked back up the hill, then off into the woods on the hiking trail. Went off the trail onto unfamiliar ground to maybe break more of a trail and extend it deeper into the woods. She's got a great nose and after we went quite a ways she led us directly back to the original we never got a bit lost. I really appreciate that because my sense of direction is so bad. At least one of us knows the way!! She's so much fun. emoticon

Today's mileage was 9.13. Did a strength training session tonight, core; lower body.

Thanks for stopping by today if you had time. Hope your Tuesday was really great. As of now, I have 5 days off for Thanksgiving break for which I'm oh so thankful!! Really looking forward to it. Tomorrow the house will get cleaned up to get ready for the cooking on Thursday.

Jetta must be so thrilled with her new people and home! Lucky girl. She sounds like Quinn when he was a youngster. It took me a while to figure out that the much mentioned and highly valued Border Collie "Off Switch" did not come installed and would take some effort on my part to achieve, LOL. But it is worth all the time and energy, as you know, to end up with a wonderful companion who is always ready to DO something (anything) but also good about kicking back and hanging out with you. Enjoy your girly and have a wonderful, healthy Thanksgiving!

I don't have pets myself, but I have heard it said that it is like having an extra person in the house. I guess because of the age, it is like having a extra CHILD in the house. All I can say is enjoy it while they are young, because they grow quickly.
