Saturday Conversations

Saturday, November 17, 2012

Wow! Two days in a row of meeting with good friends for a meal.
I made HEALTHY choices, considered the options.

I greatly enjoyed the conversations, the laughs, and food was secondary. No, really.
I drank water with my meals.
I enjoyed rekindling my friendships with a couple of different women I have worked with.

Grateful for smiles.
Grateful for conversations.
Grateful for friendships that transcend time and space and continue.
Grateful for getting in nearly 4 miles of walking yesterday, and working towards 1 today.
Grateful for sunshine, and a little less hand pain then yesterday. For some reason, my hands were barometers yesterday and I really hurt. So much so, I really couldn't crochet, and wore wrist/hand supports just to keep them warm and thwart the pain. Better today.

I'm glad to hear your hands hurt less than the other day and I hope they keep not hurting. Great job making healthier choices at the time spent out with friends. That's awesome! Fantastic to get in the exercise as well! Keep up the fabulous work!

That is fantastic you could get out and enjoy some relaxing time with old friends :) Well done focusing on the company and not the food, and having just water is a biggie too!
I hope your hands continue to improve, but do rest them if that is what they are needing. I sometimes can't wait to get into my splints as they release the pain getting my joints into a more correct positioning.
Have a peaceful resting sunny Sunday!

emoticon Deborah. I know the temptations you are facing when eating out. I have been learning to make better choices too. It isn't as hard as I expected. I have made the decision my health is worth more than a temporary food fix.

Doing good DEBORAH, My hands hurt after I use them for sewing, might the crochet be making them sore. I hope not but if it is you should wear your splints often and with the rest the pain diminishes. It has become a vicious circle but I am nowhere n ear giving it up, I love it and it keeps me happy. I just have to find the way to go, HUGS emoticon emoticon emoticon Pat in Maine. emoticon

Congratulations on all you are doing. You've encouraged me today with what you wrote. This week I discovered I can still have fellowship with friends over meals and make healthy choices ... and enjoy it even more, as you said. Best wishes on your healthy journey.
