~ Celebrating The Little Victories

Friday, November 16, 2012

So, about a month or so ago I did a lower body pilates routine that totally humbled me. I could barely do many of the moves and was so disappointed in how I did. I always thought I had some strength in my lower body and I had trouble doing even the simplest moves.

Needless to say, I have avoided this work out ever since. I am on the fitness slow train, but I have kept up at least 10 minutes a day for over fifty days now without missing a single one. I have kept plugging along, but have not attempted that work out again.

Until today.

I sucked it up and turned on the video. I started the routine and thought the beginning wasn't too bad, it must have been the end that was really hard. I did feel the burn, and modified one move when the burn turned into a scalding red fire in my outer thigh, but before I knew it, it was time to turn over and work the other leg.

I felt my confidence soar and made it through all the moves on the other leg as well. As I stretched out I was in amazement at the strides I have made taking baby steps into fitness. It was night and day, the difference between the first work out and this one. I felt stronger, I made it through, and I learned that I am making progress that I can both see and feel.

From a work out I dreaded to one I can't wait to try again. That's worth celebrating. :)

Yay! Every bit really does add up. And I love streaks! I've been doing a 10 minute minimum per day too, I started in January. :) I think it's a habit by now!
