Today is my 563rd consecutive day of cardio.
A special welcome today to members of the November 11 through November 17 team. Today is my 563rd consecutive day (streak) and I'm sure I've written over 500 blogs since I started SP in 2011!
The importance of blogging cannot be overstated. When I joined SP, I made it a goal to workout every day and SP gave me the ability to write about it. I seized the opportunity and also made the commitment to blog every day about my progress. As many of you know from past blogs, there were many days I really did not want to get out and run/jog/walk but the knowledge that I had a blog to write was one of the motivators that got me out the door. It certainly helped me attain my goal of weight loss and getting back into the HEALTHY BMI CATEGORY!!
Back on April 15th, I started a group to walk across the United States. As of today, we're about 25 miles from our goal in Oregon. You can join the official Spark Team. Look for the team name, "Virtual Walk/Run/Cycle thru US @ exercise.lbl.gov"
You don't have to join the SparkTeam but it will give you a place to post your results. To start the program itself, go to www.exercise.lbl.gov and sign up with an account and begin tracking your walking/jogging/cycling mileage. You will be able to see a map of your progress as well as a picture of the area around you at the various places along the trail which mark your progress. Good luck!
Yesterday I changed my workouts (again). I've cut back to three sets of strength instead of six. I think the added sets were wearing me out a little. I'm still doing the twelve one minute interval running sets, though, seven days a week.
The Jog/Walk Across America team stats is about twenty five miles from the end of the journey. We should hit the mark this week. Team distance as of Thursday 15Nov: 4051
