Busy But Great Day

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

It has been a very busy and tiring day for me. I signed the kids up for a homeschool history day that our local museum offered and it was wonderful! They showed someone blacksmithing and had other great events at a historical village. We were there for almost 3 hours and it was VERY cold outside but they still loved it. We ran into some old friends, so it was nice to chat with them a little bit.

After that I drove home while the kids ate their packed lunch (got to save money for all these events, LOL) but stopped at a bread store to get some whole wheat bagel thins and hamburger buns for $1 each and stopped by a mom and pop type of supermarket and stocked up on name brand (Luna, Power Bar, etc.) energy bars for 25 cents each.

We got most of our schooling done while I cleaned the house and then it was back out again to a Twilight/Vampire & Werewolves event at our local library for teens that was free. The kids had a great but busy day and I'm now exhausted and ready for bed, LOL.

My daughter and son won some really nice prizes (a book and a Twilight journal set) for having great make-up (done for free at the library) that was voted as the best there.

I know, I was so thrilled that it was so inexpensive (the historical event) and that we had such a busy and fun day on so little money spent.

I love days like that although they can be exhausting for old moms like me, LOL.
