60 day juice feast: ACCOUNTABILITY

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

I wanted to take a minute to say thank you to those who have been faithfully commenting and encouraging me along my journey.

I had to go across town today to drop my son off at a meeting and passed my favorite coffee shop on the way home. I had been thinking all day about what I was going to do when I drove by. I stopped and ordered a small chai tea. I took three sips, wondering how I was going to get away with this. I hadn't had a headache yet today, so that was not an excuse. Besides, it didn't taste as good as I remember it tasting last Wednesday.

I came home and poured it down the drain, wishing I had my 4 bucks back.

Then I thought about this blog the site keeping my "official" blog and knew it was because of the accountability of having people taking this journey with me that I couldn't enjoy that tea as much as I would have like to.

I haven't had any headaches today, the first day since last Thursday. I was able to exercise and do some strength training tonight. I feel fantastic!

So, thanks! A really really big THANKS!

I drink herbal tea with squirt of raw unfiltered honey and 2 drops of liquid stevia. The pic of my tea is at the link below... Just in case you needed further info :)

I dont mean for this to sound enabling, but out of curiosity, when you did drink tea, how did you drink it? I am also doing a 60 day juice fast (this is my first fast ever, and I am on day 5 woo hoo!), and am thinking of adding herbal tea occasionally, but am not sure how to drink it. do you drink it plain, or with sugar, or honey, or splenda... etc.. I dont think that plain would be all the enjoyable, but am not sure if you can add any sweeteners when doing a juice fast. I wanna make sure that I do things right, and not sabotage myself, but I also want to enjoy myself and have food/ drink options in social settings so I don't become a hermit and shy away from the public while doing this... thanks in advance :)

I am so glad you had this experience.
I used to eat some things thinking they are or are not so great. Some of the ones I thought were great came back as I went to clean eating and paleo. As I ate them the next time, it was easy to take a bite and throw the rest away. I had often heard that nothing tastes as good as thin feels, but I am more interested in the health of my body and not sorry for the money I spent noticing that the food/poison no longer holds my interest.
I like the part about noticing the taste, feel, what we are doing, making a choice every moment about continuing to do this or not. . .

Glad you are over the HA's.
    Glad you are my friend.

    You are doing so great!
    Yippee on your choice.
Sometimes I am so very surprised how wonderful I feel when, I come here on SP and find a message from a team member or a friend. It has made such a difference in my life and in this journey.
Unseen and virtually done is important....hmmm I don't think this is a bad thing, but a good one!
You are doing a wonderful thing for you and yes your lovely family.
