How to find time you didn't know you had.

Being inclined to worrying, I often waste time when I have an appointment or deadline...even when I am just waiting for someone to come to the house.
As I get older, I am learning to overcome this, but I have also found a good way to help use time I have. When I do a job, or even some fitness activity, I try to take note of the time it takes.
Today I confirmed that if I leave the house at 7.50am I can get to the swimming pool and be in the water by 8.30 (if I leave later, I will be delayed 15minutes by the traffic jams). I know I can drive to a favourite walk spot, do the walk and get home in 1 1/2 hours.
Yesterday, I noted that I can find and measure the ingredients for focaccia and get them in the breadmaker to mix and prove in 5 mins....looking at that, I can see that I could start the focaccia, go for my walk, and be back in time to shape and finish the bread.
Making notes of these things would help too.
