Back On Track - Day One

Monday, November 12, 2012

Last month I was really looking forward to my weight loss journey and not even a week into it I fell off track. emoticon I completely abandoned this website, my goals, friends, everything except for my bad eating habits and lack of exercise.

One day I was talking to a close friend of mine who is always talking about going to the gym and being in shape. I confided in him about how I wanted to get in shape, I told him I want to drop the weight to feel better about my appearance and to get healthier. He gave me some tips and emailed me a home fitness test. It was a simple test, see how many push-ups, crunches, and squats in a minute and how many steps I could do (using a step/stair) in three minutes. He told me to keep track and test myself every month. After finishing our conversation I completely ignored the email. emoticon

Then for three days straight he called, texted, and emailed me about my results. Seeing that he cared so much to help me out I decided to open the email and take the test. emoticon It was so simple yet so hard, but I did it and I felt good. So I forwarded to another friend of mine and she signed up for SparkPeople as well. emoticon

So here I am, emoticon,
I wrote down my goals and posted them where I could see them. My goals for this week is to track my calories, drink 8 glasses of water, and to work out for at least 10 minutes everyday. I also told my 6 year old son to make sure I stay on track, he's good at pushing me to the limits. I have told enough people about my plans to get healthier and lose some weight so I know I wont have any problems falling off track again. I just have to remember to take it one day at a time and use all the tools that are available on SparkPeople.

I finally took my before pictures!!!

It is great to hear that you didn't really give up. You came back and your trying again, small set backs happen but having people you are accountable to can help. Every day is different and we can only try our best.

Welcome back! We all mess up from time to time, so don't get discouraged. Even those who have had the most success still mess up. So if you should mess up, forgive yourself, keep it moving, and try to make better choices afterwards. Good luck! emoticon
