Hard times

Monday, November 12, 2012

I NEED your prayers--my husband's position was terminated today. Simply a financial decision on their part, but still incredibly difficult. Lost our health insurance effective TODAY! Lost the company vehicle, phone, computer, etc. Lost all our benefits! Lost our INCOME! PRETTY stressful!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your faithful prayers for our family! I heard a quote years ago that said, 'if God gives the mouths…He'll always provide the food.'

BLESSINGS and much love, Susan

Depending upon what your husband did for a living, federal laws mandate a COBRA package for your health benefits. If he worked for a non-profit, then he wouldn't get anything. We are in the process of loosing our retirement medical benefits and are waiting for our COBRA pkg. Paying the full amount for your benefits is a real shocker, but if you are uninsurable like my DH is, it is the only choice we have in order to survive.

Oh, precious Susan, I have been remembering your husband & you in prayer since first reading about the change of circumstances our sovereign Lord God has allowed into your lives.

We Visions have faced the same trial concerning loss of employment due to unforeseen circumstances - my cherished MrV’s livelihood was “best shored” to India. Meaning that the American company he was employed with felt it a money saving deal to have workers in India do the job for less outlay.

This was after my beloved MrV had given years of devoted service to the work (if he had been paid for overtime hours alone we would be set for life emoticon ) - with the record of having saved the company thousands upon thousands of dollars in finding trouble spots & revamping the way they programmed reports.

We simply determined to put our trust in our Abba’s plan for us throughout the situation & He has kept His promise of provision for His own.

Interestingly enough – about nine months after the termination of my MrV’s employment with the company, he got a call with the offer of having the job back. Obviously the out sourcing of the work to India did not pan out as those in authority over such things had expected. Needless to say – it was an ego boost (of sorts) to be offered the job back; however, Holy Spirit had directed us on to better things.

Hang in there, Susan, with the knowledge that our Lord God is, indeed, in total control over all – that, of course, includes the provision of livelihoods for our men.

Also, precious Sister, if you look at this trial as a most wonderful opportunity for untold spiritual growth, you will be amazed at what the Lord has in store for both your husband & for you.

Remember our Abba’s Word instructs us to thank & praise Him in “ALL” circumstances. Please do that, Susan!

In the meantime determine to hold on to the hope that is yours as a child of the Most High God. That is where the biggest dividends are to be had, my sweet Sister.

I commit to continue lifting petitions on your behalf before our Abba.

    God bless!

Praying for you. We have been in that situation (3 times in 5 years -- downsizing). God was always faithful and we never went hungry and He always provided. God is good all the time, all the time God is good -- I relied on the fact that God is sovereign and is control.

    Dear, dear Susan,
Remember " I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, " plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future full of hope."
I know it may not seem like prospering at the moment but I believe that will be the ultimate end of this trial you are going through.
What a sad shock for you all.I will be lifting you up in prayer.
    Love you

Here's praying that God's people reach out and become His hands and feet to show you how He is there in time of ALL the details of that.

So sorry for this unexpected "storm". May you hold on tight in the "boat" as it rocks and the wind blows. -- Our/your kids get a chance to see what being a Christian looks like when the big storms blow. -- Our God is bigger than the storm!

My son recently lost his job and I happened to hear another company was looking for someone and I knew my son could do the job so I had my son call and he was hired. Not what he would have been looking for, but I think it will end up being a double blessing. He didn't even have to miss a paycheck and I think will be in a better position to obtain a better job in the future. He has been under employed for way too many years. Will put you and hubby in my prayers for better days.
