BYE BYE 240's

Today marks a week since I started the low carb eating and today is my OFFICIAL Weigh in.....238.6lbs!!!! GOODBYE 240'S!!!! I feel so much better than I have felt in so many years. I feel like I am starting to get my life back. I used to be an active person and I want me back. I also look at my son , so young and innocent and I want him to have the best shot at life. I don't want him to be addicted to video games and not know the love for nature like so many kids these days. I want him to prefer playing outside or going fishing rather than sitting in front of a television all day. The best way for me to make sure of this is to give him the best example I can. I only hope one day my husband is ready to make better choices as well :)

    Congratulations on your achievement! I too am a lower carb eater. I avoid refined carbs like sugar, bread, pasta, rice, most dairy and starchy veggies most days of the week but I do indulge from time to time. It wasn't easy at first and sometimes I still find it a challenge. My SO is in a band so most weekends we are at a bar and they don't always have lower carb offerings. I make the best choices I can and try to increase my activity.

    By setting a great example for your son, you are doing him a wonderful service! Unhealthy lifestyles are as rampant in our youth as it is in adults. By making sure we give them solid foundations in healthy choices and activities, we are helping to stop the cycle!
