The "Old habit" trying to sneak back....

Wednesday, November 07, 2012

I was reading another blog by an awesome Spark Friend and she inspired me to write this blog.

It's amazing the new healthy habits we develop after such a short time on Spark People. I track my food (almost every morsel), log my fitness and measurements. I faithfully look at my nutrition reports daily. In the beginning the colors of my charts were very different than they are now. The food passing my lips was full of empty nothingness...no nutrients, nothing healthy. But, today I am eating 4-8 fruits and veggies a day and drinking mega amounts of water. My color charts are proportioned properly and are quite beautiful!

When I'm grocery shopping I spend a lot of time (and $) in the fresh produce section, but sometimes that old habit sneaks up and I find myself in the middle of the store loading the no-no's in my buggy. Generally by the time I reach the checkout, my new self is out-talking and overriding the "old habit" and I hand the no-no's to the clerk and tell them I've changed my mind! WOW to have that kind of power over the no-no's is AWESOME!

I have had chronic insomnia in the past...today I am sleeping at least 7.5 hours per night and sometimes more and more without medication.

I used to have absolutely no energy to do anything. I would sit and read for hours. Well, today, I still read, but not for hours at a time. I had more aches and pains before and today the only aches and pains I have is after an awesome TURBO KICK or CARDIO POWER class! Actually, I welcome those aches knowing my muscles are taking control of my body over the fat.

The other day I strolled into a boutique and just about drooled over the styles and colors, but I caught myself and wiped my face. It won't be long now and I will be trying on those gorgeous styles! No room for old habits in the regular size clothing isles.

Those old habits do try to worm their way back into my brain, but I am stronger and more determined than ever. Those old habits need to just face it...IT IS TIME TO RETIRE!
