What a great day yesterday was!!!!! I came prepared to volunteer! I went to a polling place for 8 hours & drove & made calls for Seniors, to get to vote! I felt wonderful AND very tired once I got home! (I took the day off work, catching up now!) I met several wonderful people & saw what the people in this new area, for me, are like! Many VERY over weight people (150+), I gave out my Spark People cards (I found them on my Spark Points page & printed them out) when I felt it would help them. I have learned the hard way, that if a person is not ready for my help I can offend them!

So, as I said, I brought my lunch & snacks, (in the handy freezer tops I bought from Spark People) THANK GOD! Baked Turkey, baby carrots, celery, & (my new fav.) diced raw butternut squash, water, organic whole grain animal cookies! I had that to fall back on instead of pizza, donuts & junk! I am SO proud of myself AND I should be! I have turned the page to junk food. 1 lady couldn't believe me when I called candy pretend food. She is going to make cookies, not for herself, but her family & friends. I said I won't give my loved ones foods I won't eat! If a food doesn't GIVE me energy then I don't eat it. She was surprised by this comment. We were making calls sitting next to each other. I could tell she was feeling guilty about what she was eating. I KNOW this vibe, all too well! BUT hearing me say this AND following through with what I brought, was REALLY great for me! I'm thrilled to have turned that page! Now, I want to get out of THAT book, too! HAHA!

My only regret from yesterday, was that I didn't get involved, sooner. They could have used my help & I could have helped several more people, therefore helping myself. Because I volunteer for the Disney Legends, I hadn't considered other organizations to volunteer for. I travel so much, I don't want to make commitments I can't keep. I get along so well with seniors, I may go see if I can help out at the local senior centers, if I can just drop in! I'm going to a place today, finally, to see if I want to swim there. (I'm considered a senior, there, WOW!) Maybe I can help there, if I have extra time.

REALLY great day!!!!! I'm off to work and all the other things I want to ketchup with! Logging my points from yesterday, too! I missed out on many because there was just not time, BUT I feel great that I helped out! YES! I am a winner AND it is because of Spark People & the answer to my prayers, to heal this weight problem once & for all! I have in the past gained & lost 100#'s, 50#'s, 65#'s, & now 51#'s, (13 to go for my highest weight goal)! I KNOW this is the last time! This is my life, it is VERY important to me AND so are you & your love & support! Let's go out & make it an even better world! We can do this! We can & DO, help each other! If you are reading this, know I love you & think of you many times, everyday!!!! PLEASE leave a comment , here IF you do read this, OK? Please, Please, Please?!

Have a Sparkling Day!

Hip HIP Hooray! You ALWAYS feel so much better when you help someone out now don't you? That's why I consider lots of my Spark precious. If I can encourage someone along the way with the knowledge or experience...good OR bad that I've why wouldn't I?

I LOVE Butternut Squash...but I like mine cut into chunks, sprinkled with cinnamon, allspice, and a little nutmeg, drizzled with the LIGHTEST sprinkling of Pure Maple Syrup or Agave and baked...SO YUM!

I used to hand out cookies to my customers...but I feel guilty poisoning them with the processed now bake my own...they ask me why I've stopped the other cookies and I tell them that if I kill them off they aren't going to be good customers now are they...and then they ask me WHY I haven't had time to bake them the good stuff...GEEZE...I think I've started something! emoticon I might have to take in a BIG bag or organic carrots...I bet I wouldn't have many bout you?

emoticon What a wonderful Day you had!! Congratulations on learning that "Pretend Food" really is NOT what your Body craves.
I am almost sure that you will find some place where they can use your Service at a Senior Center! Please let us know how that works out.
I will have to try the Raw Butternut Squash!! That never occurred to me!!

It was great you volunteered for the vote! My son lived down in Hollywood from 2006 to 2010. He lived just a few blocks the Chinese Theater. I visited him quite a few times each year. He is now back home with me helping me adjust to the awful divorce I went through. It has been for the best but it took from 2010 to 2012 to get it finalized.
He use to walk a lot in the hills as well. take care

Sweetie what an awesome blog, not only did you come prepared with your food, but to have Sparks cards to hand out was ingenious. Volunteering always gives you such a great feeling, especially when it is appreciated. Here's a high five emoticon for job well done my love. Keep up the great work
