Strep. And a new diet. (for me)

I haven't had this since I was a young teenager! (I don't think) It's been fairly awful, sore-throat-wise, but not too bad otherwise. No fever, aches, etc. I thought it was just a bad cold for the first few days. I'm glad I finally went to the doctor yesterday (the pain and the appearance of my throat finally convinced me), and as much as we avoid antibiotics around here, I was SO happy to get that Rx filled last night. Already feeling a little better this morning.
After eating way too much sugar on my trip to California last weekend, I determined to get it done NOW. I started planning every single meal and snack, BEFORE I ate it, and mostly sticking to it. My husband had heard good things about the effectiveness of the Medifast diet, but I couldn't pay that much, to eat that much processed food, when I'm planning to get pregnant in several months anyway. So I decided to model my percentages after that, but with more whole foods and more calories. (I'm terrified of messing up my metabolism by eating 800-1000 calories a day...) I have my calories set at 1100 to 1300 (real life - I don't think I've eaten under 1200 more than once), with as close to 100 g of protein as I can manage, less than 140 carbs, and less than 35 grams of fat. It is HARD to get that much protein while keeping the other two down, and staying within my calories. I -really- have to plan it out and try different combinations! But it's been a great week, and I've felt less snacky this week than I can ever remember, because of all the protein. I gained like 3 lbs over last weekend, so was up to 175-ish, but as of Sunday, I was back at 170, and might be in the 169 range by now...
Even with the strep, I have still been planning and paying attention to me eating, making sure I don't eat a bunch of empty carbs, still get 70+ grams of protein in, and stay in my calorie range. I need to prove to myself that I can do this on my own. (Ie. not with expensive meal replacements) Not so much the last 4-5 days, but I've also been getting good exercise for over an hour 3-4 times a week. How wonderful would it be to give myself a 10-lb loss for Christmas?
