Miss me?

This has been SUCH a hard two months for me. I've been inactive, completely off my diet, and just unmotivated in general. Novembers are so hard; NaNoWriMo is in full swing, and in spite of my best efforts, I end up working 12+ hours a day. Since I work online, this means that Sparkpeople falls behind.

However, I'm determined not to let this derail me. I'm reshuffling my priorities again. I've been to the gym twice this week, boot camp on Monday, and a PT session yesterday. I'm unbelievably sore. My quads and butt hurt so much I have to lower myself onto the toilet with my arms. ;) They're sore too, but two days of leg work hasn't hit them the same way. ;)

I miss you guys. I've been chosen as a team leader for a SP class, so I'm using that as my required daily login. I'm responding to posts there. I'm determined to do this...

The one good thing? In spite of being "off the wagon" somewhat, I have NOT regained any weight. I'm still hovering around 189 or so, and yoyo between there and 185. This means that I HAVE made positive changes for the better. I am not falling into old habits again. Well, I do occasionalyl indulge in the odd second biscuit, but I'm eating healthier, and I don't think I'll go back to it.

Last night, I went with the girls to Chick Fil A. The food... was so mediocre. I haven't eaten there in months, and I was stunned at how bland and unappetizing it was. I mean, I used to eat there once a week! It's funny how my palate has adjust to fresh, whole foods. No more deep-fried machine-processed white meat for me. :)

    Sounds like a few of us have wondered off the farm a bit lately. I know in my case I am in maintenance mode and trying to find balance without all the tracking, etc. It really feels wrong, but I will probably give it another week or so before I really know if I'm doing well or not. This time of year is also bad for most of us, so again, I'm right there with ya on this.
    Glad to have you back though and am looking forward to more of your posts.

    SP is a great tool and is such a wonderful place with great people. Still, life is more important. Please keep checking in when you can, but if it's a choice between cooking/exercising/living/loving/wo
    rking/sleeping and SP, SP should be put last. Don't feel bad if you're unable to be the most active person on the site. Remember, those who are spending half a day here aren't out living the healthy lifestyle they're trying to learn about.

    You've already proven that you've made progress in changing your habits. That's awesome! Keep working on making those changes and stopping in SP when you have a little free time. Besides, adding in extra stress of 'I SHOULD do this' is only going to make things harder, not easier. As for the team, get a co-leader or two and split the duties.

    Glad to hear from you! My daughter is in full nanowrimo swing and loving every minute. Downside is she'd rather do that than homework right now!

    I understand about the long days on a computer and how hard it can be to stay on it even longer to do SP, FB, or any other personal work. Sometimes you just can't stare at a monitor any longer. Congrats on realizing some positive lifestyle changes and good for you working in some exercise time! Keep it up!

    I haven't eaten at CFA in months--way before the hoopla over gay marriage. I don't miss it, but if I DID eat there, they do have good salads and grilled chicken too. I don't want to be off the wagon, but it is so hard to stay ON! I really need a shot in the arm to power through November as it is full of pitfalls like holiday deliciousness! I want to get down to Onederland so bad!

    Congrats on realizing the lifestyle changes!! They always say that the scale is not the only way to measure how well your doing! I can't wait until the day that I go to a restaurant and make the same realization that you did! Right now I am that way with milk....I can't drink whole milk because of the film of fat that I feel in my mouth after I drink it!
