What a Difference

So, last Sunday I snuck a peek at the scale. On the new plan I wasn't supposed to do that until my 8 weeks was up, but I couldn't help myself. My hope was to see me down a pound, maybe two. Instead, I'm DOWN 5!!! 5 lbs in 15 days! O-M-G!!! Now I know that number will slow down, but I've done low / no carb before and not had anywhere near these results.
I have busted my back end on low fat / low cal plans and not lost that much in 3 mos! I'm counting carbs only - not calories at all, but I am staying on the "low fat" end of the food scale. They are spaced out throughout my day. I "graze" all day long. My energy levels are steady! I'm not falling asleep at my desk halfway through the afternoon. My mood has been nice and steady too. Little things aren't bothering me or stressing me. I'm getting up in the morning looking forward to how I'll feel after my workout. And it's significantly easier than I was expecting it to be! Even going out to eat hasn't been difficult. My biggest challenge though is coming up. I've got a business meeting for work in another state next week and all the food will be catered. I've contacted the person running things and she said it wouldn't be a problem, but I'm afraid their definition of "low carb" might not match mine. *sigh* I've already made plans for how to eat for Thanksgiving, I'd really hate to go off track over something as silly as a business trip!
I have to admit, I am feeling more hopeful about dropping this weight than I have felt in a long time. I'm looking forward to actually being able to get back into single digit sizes. And most of all, I'm looking forward to getting back to good enough health that I can get off the cholesterol medication (which is a topic for another post - and you're not going to believe it!)
