It Has been awhile.

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

I have not posted since mid October. I just haven't had anything worthwhile to say. Not that I wouldn't want to.
I have so enjoyed my wonderful grandchildren. My grandson is speaking so much better, loves to color, loves to play with his grandfather, is settling into the room I fixed up for him and other grandchildren to sleep in when they are here. There is a loft in there, and right now he takes his naps (or memes as his partial Spanish Mom calls them) on a futon mattress that is underneath on the floor. There is room at the end of the loft to put the baby's crib. There is also an 8 cubie unit that I am going to gradually put his toys into. Have started that.
My granddaughter is growing. She can now reach the hanging toys in her bouncy seat and grabs for them. She smiles, coos, still spits up all over her and her grandparents. But her Mommy has her on an excellent schedule for a 3 1/2 month old. She sleeps 10-11 hours at night, and Mom is working on getting her to take a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. This will all help me when I start taking care of her the Monday after Thanksgiving.
I will be sitting at her house on Mons, Thurs, and Fridays. Her mom will work 8 hours on Mon, and 6 on the other two days. add on about 1.5 hours for travel time for me to her home, and her mom to travel to and from work. Mon will be a long day for me.

I got two vaccines today, one for shingles (My brother had them twice and I do not want to get them, and if I were I could give the baby chicken pox), and the other tetanus and pertussis. (This is to protect the baby against whooping cough). the second is the one that is giving me the most trouble with sore muscles in my arm. But it is also the same arm that I got my blood drawn for blood work.

I am in a challenge for the fall, but I am not doing very well. I am supposed to be loosing weight, but I have gained 5 lbs. I have been giving in to fall chocolate, and when you do that, you loose interest in the more healthy foods that you need to be taking part in.

And tonight I have been watching the election results, while cutting out some parts to the quilts that I promised my husbands nieces. We are going to St Louis for Thanksgiving, and I want to try to get a real start and progress on them. I can always use my MIL sewing machine to work on them there to finish them. But I need to be making progress.

I have been exercising at least some. Monday I did Zumba for a full hour. I think that I overdid it. It was enjoyable, but well I am sore today. Thanks for reading.

    Good to hear the update!

Your Mondays will, indeed, be long! We babysit the baby here at our house. Especially since Ashley works nights at full-time, and some days part-time. I'd never be home if I babysat at her place. We'd probably have the baby less if Ashley or we could afford the trips back and forth daily. Every other week (especially now that Akyrie's in school), I go to her place to babysit all three children on Thursday evening, spend the night, and then after school on Friday, I bring all three to our home, until Sunday a.m., and Ashley comes here to be with them. I think it's different for us, too, because of the night shifts.

Good for you for exercising again! I'm still not on top of that area yet, but I've been tracking again.

Take pics of the quilts when you're done! I'd love to see them!
