I listened to Spark Radio this morning and totally enjoyed it! I look forward to more broadcasts!

I am so grateful that I come from a family that loves to take pictures! I have inherited that love and as I look around my home, I see & smile at all the reminders of how Blessed I truly am. I am my family memory keeper. When grandma died, mama gave me all the family photo albums. I have pictures as far back as my great great grandparents.

I especially love looking at the pics of my mama, grandma and grandpa of when they were growing up. It helps me feel closer to them now that they are gone. I have pictures of my sister, niece and nephew all over as well. Time has flown by so very quickly and I love seeing how beautiful my niece and nephew have grown up to be. Oh! Let us not forget the hundred of pics I have taken at Faire over the last 15 years! *LOL* Will I ever get them organized???

I am thankful I had a chance to watch a flock of birds yesterday morning as I pulled into work. They were almost close enough to touch and were oddly unafraid of me as I got out of my car slowly to watch them. I don't know what kind of birds they were, but being that close to them made my morning.

On a little bit of a vain note, I am so very thankful that my hair has grown back and is even a little thicker than it was pre chemo. It is longer than it has been in years and I have no intention of cutting it, any time soon! I am really enjoying it.

This picture is my grandpa and mama in 1951...*smiles*

I love old family pictures, too. I am not much of a photographer myself, and can just barely use a digital camera, but I am blessed that one of my cousins and one of my uncles have done tons of research into family history, and even managed to identify every single person in a very old picture of a family gathering, with well over 50 people in it. Family history means so much, and I am so grateful we will not lose it.

I too love having pics of my family around me. I had one wall in my living room covered with photos for a number of years. It had both current photos as well as old photos of our extended family through the years. Was always fun to walk by and look at as well as a great conversation starter when we had visitors.

Had to read your blog when it had the title of one of my favorite songs that I sing when I get up in the mornings! It makes me so happy! Old photos and journals are wonderful. I'm the "memory keeper" in my family also. Lots of work and frustration as I lose the ones who had those memories. Wish I had asked more while they were here. emoticon

I enjoyed reading your blog. It made me smile when I saw your title "Oh, what a beautiful morning." Musicals are so much of my daily life. I had to read it. I just listened to Spark Radio and was impressed and motivated. I plan to listen often perhaps daily.

How fortunate you are to be the family keeper of the photos. My parents passed at a young age. I wish I had more family photos. They are so special

I am happy to read you are feeling better. and on the road to recovery. emoticon Paula emoticon

The "memory keeper" is an important job. I have been encouraging my parents to write about their lives and of their parents and grandparents. Some things may be lost forever. I recently celebrated my Dads 80th birthday and everyone in the family founds loads of pictures. Many I have never seen. It was a reminder on how important family is. I am pleased you are feeling better. emoticon
