A visit from my mojo

Sunday, November 04, 2012

Feeling good today. Despite the fact that I only caught 6 hours sleep, so my sleep challenge isn't exactly a roaring success.

Started the day with 35 minutes on the elliptical, followed by stretches, while I watched "The Killing" on TV replay. Then tidied up the kitchen and rushed off for an 11 am pool session. It was good not to have to worry about the cardio, I concentrated mostly on water weights, situps and a good long water yoga session, so I feel well stretched.

Usually I do Zumba on Mondays but I'm finding this Zumba instructor does routines that I don't really love so much. Lots of quick turns and it is high impact. I have to watch out for injuries and modify movements, so I can't get into the groove so much.

In fact lately I haven't been looking forward to Zumba. And I have skipped a couple of Monday sessions.

Although I would have thought the toning is not as hard core as the regular Zumba, I find I am able to work harder in the toning sessions - not so many compromises, perhaps?

I'm thinking I will stick with my Tuesday and Saturday Zumba toning sessions, and add a Monday elliptical/swim.

What a joy it is to be able to do the dishes and the laundry while I am in the pool. I love modern conveniences!

Picked up a few things at the shops, lugged them up my 106 steps, emoticonand about to make a soup & salad lunch after I log my exercise points.

Then, if the post swim/ post lunch snooze monster doesn't sit me down for a little read & zzzzz, it's a tad more gardening emoticon on this lovely sunny day full of birdsong.

Go me!

PS We have fireworks tonight, it is Guy Fawkes day. Often the weather is a bit toey for the big display they have on the harbour, but maybe we will be lucky tonight. Our poor critters get rather scared, so we may stick around home, perhaps light the brazier.

You are doing so well with your workouts that I feel like a slacker. Good for you. Keep up the good work.

106 steps, that's quite the workout.
