PUMPKINS ABUSED FOR HALLOWEEN BUT NOT DOGS ......

Saturday, November 03, 2012

Once again my lovely youngest offspring has spent hours selecting by shape and size just which pumpkins were to be 'murdered' for this year's Halloween display. After deciding on a mere six of them to torture, we left the pumpkin patch and headed home.

The next step involved sticking a very large sharp knife brutally through the tops of each one, and then mercilessly pulling all their innards out. Once that was accomplished she started cutting all kinds of holes in their poor empty shells, just so that she could fulfill her own fantastical dreams..... Three are favourite, repeat carvings that she has done before , and three are are new this year.

BATS

FIRE BREATHING DRAGON

MEDUSA

DRACULA

SPIDERMAN

AND SPIDERMAN'S WEB (on the same pumpkin)

PEGASUS

We decided that it was time to do another photo shoot of the 3 beasties all decked out for Halloween since the last one was done a couple of years ago.... and because once again Meaganne wanted to enter a pet Halloween photo contest......

DEVIL DOG (Phoenix)

FAIRY PRINCESS (Arwen)

THE BOY WIZARD (Brinx)

THE WHOLE GANG (with props and without)

Hope you all had a very SPOOKTACULAR Halloween, in spite of Hurricane Sandy!!!

    Kathy,

Your daughter should have the career of a budding artist...those pumpkins are spectacular...they've got to have a pumpkin carving show for her to participate in...she would surely rack up the prizes...& as for your "pretty pooches"...what champs to get Dressed up for Halloween, I loved their getups...again award winners!!!

I can sure see the enjoyment your family gets out of the holidays..thank you for sharing it with us!!!
