So, it has been a while, but I am back. For the last 3 weeks, I have slowly been getting back to making exercise a priority in my life. I started out this year strong, but then allowed work and life to get in the way, and just accepted it.
My oldest twin asked me if I was having a baby the other night (yikes!). I said no, and she asked why is my belly fat. I just told her it was because I grew two babies in my belly, and that is why Mommy is now exercising. I do feel embarrassed/ashamed that my 5 year old baby is asking valid questions. I also try to be very aware of not calling myself fat. When I exercise, I tell the girls it's because Mommy wants to be healthy. I also have started to take one at a time out when I run. They can walk/run with me, but prefer to ride their bikes. Talk about motivation, trying to keep running to keep up with them! Especially my youngest twin, she is still a little shaky since we took off her training wheels, so just seeing her veer toward a parked car is enough to make me kick it into overdrive to avoid a crash.
So I need to focus on doing this not only for me, but for my daughters. For them to strive to be healthy in their lives, and to embrace being active. I am blessed that all 3 are extremely active, not only with extra curricular activities, but they love being outside and playing. I love that we live in a neighborhood where they have friends close by, wonderful parents that watch everyone's kids, and a not too busy street.
