How many calories am I really burning/ walk 2 run program

So, I spent, what, one day one here it seems? Well, regardless, it was one day I needed. Since "Training Day 9.0" I've been fairly busy... getting fatter. I was unable to continue workout out (laziness, nothing more) and decided that I really really need to make a change. I still have body image issues, and they are issues that need to GO! The best way though, will be to lose the weight, then I'll at least begin to see the woman I want to be.

Beyond that though, I was thinking, when walking, how many calories am I actually burning? I use apps on my phone to track it, but it's only a guess. So, after a day's worth of research yesterday at the library I found a great formula for it.

weight x 0.53 (walking) x miles walked= calories burned

or

weight x 0.75 (running) x miles ran= calories burned

Right now, I'm only going to focus on the top portion this week. So, my formula today is

226 x 0.53 x 2= 239.56

So that means I walked 2 miles, and burned almost 240 calories. That's an awesome start for me. Now, lets get into some more math...

Today I will consume about 1500 calories. I will burn naturally (not exercising) about 2000 calories with my daily activities (work, home ect), plus by working out I am burning 240 plus an additional 260 calories from another workout. This means I'm burning off 1000 calories in one day! These are calories that are going to be going off of me forever! (or until I put some food in my mouth to wipe that away...) If I maintain something similar to this effect daily, then I'll burn about 7000 calories in a week, or about 2lbs. Now, that may be a little bit high, so I'll probably realistically burn about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs in a week.

Now, whether or not I'm able to stay on this high regimine, who knows? All I know is I have a plan... that involves math... god I love math

Anyway, I'll also be starting (again) my walk to run program. Here's a breakdown for everyone. I'm starting at zero! Which means for a few weeks, I may be walking. So please, if you want to follow this, go at your own speed. You're the best judge of what's going on with your body, so if my schedule says walk 4 minutes run 1 minute and you feel like your dying after 30 seconds, adjust it to fit you. Only move on when you can comfortably complete what's asked. Each stage is about a week, but only move on when you can do it. So yeah, I might be stuck on a stage for several weeks. I'll try to blog or vlog whenever I finish my walk2run program so that way you can see a day by day of it.

Heres the schedule.

Walk-2-Run Schedule

Stage 1- Walk 30 minutes/ 3-4x per week
Stage 2- Walk 4 minutes, Run 1 minute/ 3-4x per week
Stage 3- Walk 4 minutes, Run 2 minutes/ 3-4x per week
