In the wake of Sandy

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

My prayers are with those in the areas affected by this Superstorm and their loved ones. I live in Indiana, and even as many states and miles from the coast as we are, we've felt brutal winds for many hours. I can only imagine the devastation those in the path of this hurricane are experiencing.

You are all in my thoughts today.

Grandson Josh still has no power and may not have it for over a week! He's at the end of a cul de sac that is on another source, so all but 4 of the houses on his street have their power back...and his is one of the four :( poor guy!

Well, he can shower at the gym, he says, so his family gets to stink while he gets to be clean, he says LOL. They are ok. They have a fireplace for warmth and plenty of firewood. They will have even more when the tree that fell from their front yard and took out their power lines gets cut and seasoned. ;) He works for a restaurant chain, so he brings hot food home. He figures "the Lord is good, even when Mother Nature is not." He is glad to be safe if stinky and that everyone was caring enough to ask about him and his family.

We can still feel winds and it is chilly down here and Florida. I have family and friends up in MA and most of them still don't have power.

We're lucky in our neighborhood...except for howling winds and rain... we came through OK. But the devastation all around us is heartbreaking.
One of my neighbors said this was an event of 'Biblical Proportions'. Those in badly affected areas would agree.....

This was a storm, the likes of which, we've never seen!!

I feel Blessed......but very, very sad.
